Ok, Clamp totally repeats the bit where Yasha is reaching for the burned corpse, only to have it crumble in his hands. I just can’t remember where.

And then there’s Ashura having someone turns into butterflies in his arms. I will not comment on that. ~~EEE!~~ And Ashur’s body is the sheath for the Ashura sword! I swear, was this just a testing ground for all of Clamp’s future angst!crack?

The highlight of this volume (aside from Clamp’s early angst!crack ideas) was the after comics of wee!Kendappa tricking all her little playmates.

Other than that, there was mostly Yasha being kidnapped by the demon who looked like the girl it ate and the others looking for him, though there was that lovely moment where Kujaku grew wings to take care of her. At least Ryuu and Ashura scenes are cute, and Ryuu got to meet Ashura’s dark side, thanks to Kujaku.

But no Kendappa or Karura, and almost no Souma or court politics…

I'm still trying to figure out how the RG Veda universe is tied into all of the other CLAMP works--my friend and I have a working theory that all of CLAMP's works prior to Tsubasa/XxxHolic are tied into each other somehow, but RG Veda is the only one we haven't got a connection pinned. Angelic Layer is a prequel to Chobits, and is also a video game in CCS, yet Magic Knight Rayearth is an alternate universe that's a comic book series in Angelic Layer while the school in Angelic Layer is also named after a character from CCS, and then X and Tokyo Babylon are connected to the CLAMP school series, then Miyuki-chan is another outside universe (X is a movie that she sees in a theater)...it's all very interesting to try and map everything out ^^;

In all honesty, I think a lot of it before xxxHolic/Tsubasa was just name dropping for their other series, that they then successfully took to the extreme in the current series.

That's what I thought, too, but some series do seem to connect in some very strange ways...ah well. I'd have to ask CLAMP about it to get to the bottom of everything ♥ ~~IF ONLY I COULD DDD8~~
